These pelicans were foam carved and made to resemble single-piece wood carvings. Each pelican was individually carved in foam and hardcoated. Final painting was later completed by on-site scenic painters. The pelican woodcarving was scripted as the mascot for the 'Black Pelican Bar', featured in the movie.
